Advocacy and Equity
Battle Plan exists to amplify the voices and strengthen the infrastructure of organizations working toward a more equitable world.

Battle Plan Strategic Consulting is a Black woman-owned boutique consulting firm founded in 2020. We partner with nonprofits, foundations, coalitions, social impact organizations, and associations to turn strategy into execution — building the governance, operational, financial, and project management systems that help organizations plan with intention, execute with discipline, and prove their impact.
We bring a vast array of expertise to every engagement. Our team combines deep cross-sector experience with a genuine passion for strengthening the organizations doing the most important work in our communities.

We partner with nonprofits, foundations, coalitions, social impact organizations, local government agencies, and associations to turn strategy into execution. We build the governance, operational, financial, and project management systems that help organizations plan with intention, execute with discipline, and prove their impact.
We envision a nonprofit and philanthropic sector where innovative ideas are matched with strong infrastructure — where organizations operate with clarity, accountability, and equity, and where communities benefit from institutions built to last.

We don’t drop off a report and disappear. We immerse ourselves in the work with you as a trusted partner and facilitator.
Every engagement starts with a clear-eyed assessment of where your organization is and where it needs to go. From there, we build durable and realistic systems — the kind your team can actually use and sustain. We bring structure without rigidity, accountability without bureaucracy, and a deep commitment to equity at every step.
Our approach is informed by Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, and Hybrid methodologies, the Project Management Institute (PMI), and guided by the Standards for Excellence® code for nonprofit governance and management.
When equity-focused nonprofits have access to strong infrastructure aligned to their missions, they are able to optimize operations, deploy resources, scale, and sustain interventions, so that the communities they serve can be heard, experience a more just society, and ultimately, thrive.

CEO & Principal Consultant
Battle Plan Strategic Consulting was founded in 2020 by Laurin Kelly, a consultant, nonprofit founder, and project management professional who has spent her career at the intersection of strategy and execution.
Laurin built Battle Plan around a simple observation: the organizations doing the most important work are often the ones least resourced to build the systems that make that work sustainable. Not because of a lack of will or vision — but because the day-to-day demands of mission-driven work leave little room for the infrastructure work that happens underneath it.
Laurin holds a Master of Public Health with a Certificate in Health Management and Policy and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Standards for Excellence Licensed Consultant.
