Battle Plan
Entrepreneur
Academy
A cohort-based academy that trains, equips, and launches the next generation of project management consultants, grounded in Battle Plan's frameworks and sector expertise across nonprofit, government, and small business.
Apply Now Ready for an advanced level? Consider Track 2Program Overview
The Academy offers two distinct levels: a Foundation track for aspiring consultants and an Advanced track for early-stage practitioners ready to scale. Each level runs 5 to 6 weeks with one live, virtual facilitated session per week, peer community access, and a capstone project that produces a real-world deliverable. Graduates of Level 2 are eligible to apply to Battle Plan's vetted contractor network.
Level 1: Foundation
You have the PM skills and the sector experience, and you're exploring consulting, whether as a launch, a side venture, or a future plan. Level 1 starts with a readiness diagnostic, uses your current job as the lab, and ends with a 90-day plan and a group coaching session built for the path you choose.
Level 2: Advanced
You're consulting, but growth means more than more clients. Level 2 teaches you to scale through partnerships, teams, and systems, and opens a pathway into Battle Plan's vetted contractor network.
What to Expect
A structured, hands-on environment designed to turn your expertise into a thriving consulting practice.
Live Weekly Sessions
Five 90-minute sessions facilitated in real time, with recordings available afterward.
Cohort Learning
Cohorts of 10 to 15 participants to support community building and peer accountability.
Sector-Specific Training
Gain nonprofit, government, and small business fluency.
A Real Capstone
Level 1 graduates leave with a Consulting Readiness Portfolio and a 90-day plan; Level 2 graduates leave with an active engagement or signed contract.
Contractor Network Access
Available to eligible Level 2 graduates by application.
Built By Practitioners
Every session is led by working consultants who run real engagements, not career instructors.
What You'll Achieve
By the end of Level 1, participants will be able to:
Assess their consulting readiness across core competencies, business gaps, and personal factors, and choose a path on purpose
Articulate a clear consulting positioning and value proposition for their target sectors, grounded in evidence from their current work
Price a service by value and market, calculate personal runway, and identify what a consulting agreement must contain
Consult alongside a full-time job within the terms of their employment agreement and conflict-of-interest rules
Apply Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies across nonprofit, government, and small business engagements
Develop professional-grade proposals, charters, and client communications
Build and activate a pipeline of prospective clients or learning conversations
Present a Consulting Readiness Portfolio and a 90-day plan for their chosen path
Level 1: Foundation Curriculum
A readiness diagnostic followed by five weekly live sessions that use your current job as the lab, so you finish with a client-ready portfolio, a plan for the path you choose, and a closing group coaching session built for that path.
Sessions meet virtually on Thursdays from 4:30pm to 6:00pm EST
Readiness Diagnostic
Opening at enrollment, this pre-work gives every participant an honest baseline: what transfers from your PM work, which business gaps remain open, and whether your circumstances support consulting today.
You Already Run a Practice: Reframe, Operating Model, and Positioning
Name the practice you already run, turn it into a one-page operating model and a 60-second value pitch, and build a positioning statement from that evidence.
Close the Gaps: Pricing, Cash Flow, Contracts, and Consulting Alongside Your Job
Build the capabilities a PM role rarely develops, from value-based pricing and runway to contract essentials, plus the rules for testing a practice without putting your job at risk.
Sector Deep Dives: Nonprofits, Government, and Small Businesses
Learn how clients in each sector are governed, funded, and buy outside help, then read your own employer's sector as a case study.
PM Methodology for Consulting Engagements: Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid
Choose and defend the right method for a client's budget and sector, and build a project charter for real work you lead today.
Landing Your First Client: Outreach, Proposals, and Discovery
Map your warm network, draft a proposal, and rehearse discovery with the client you already have: your sponsor. Your capstone portfolio is due Thursday, February 18.
Group Coaching, Matched to Your Path
Every participant closes the program in one of two group coaching sessions, included at no added cost. The Entrepreneurship session works through 90-day plans, first outreach, and pricing for those building a side venture or launching. The Career session turns the portfolio into a promotion case, a sharper resume and LinkedIn story, and a plan for the conversation with your manager.
Upon completing the cohort, participants receive a Battle Plan Certificate of Completion and ongoing access to their Peer Cohort Network.
