Members of the Project Management Institute Washington D.C. Chapter honored Kelly at the chapter’s 2026 Annual Conference Gala

SILVER SPRING, Md., October 19, 2026 — Laurin Kelly, PMP, Founder and CEO of Battle Plan Strategic Consulting, received the Member’s Choice Award from the Project Management Institute Washington D.C. Chapter (PMIWDC). The award was presented on Friday, October 2, at the PMIWDC 2026 Annual Conference Gala, Designing What’s Next | Delivering Innovation, held at the JW Marriott Reston Station in Reston, Virginia.

The Member’s Choice Award reflects the votes of PMIWDC members, placing the selection in the hands of the region’s own community of project management practitioners. In announcing this year’s honorees, the chapter recognized leadership, innovation, impact, and service as the qualities that define excellence in the profession.

“I founded Battle Plan on a conviction I still hold firmly, that infrastructure is mission-critical, and that organizations doing equity-focused work deserve systems strong enough to scale and sustain it,” said Kelly. “Recognition from the members of PMIWDC, people who know exactly what it takes to keep a project intact when everything around it turns tumultuous, carries a particular weight. I share this honor with the Battle Plan team, who carry more of this work than any award acknowledges, and with the clients who trust us to build alongside them.”

Kelly’s career spans IT, healthcare and public health, workforce development, and human resources, with roles at Amazon, Apple, Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte, and Kaiser. She holds a Master of Public Health with a Certificate in Health Management & Policy, along with the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Through Battle Plan Strategic Consulting, Kelly partners with nonprofits, foundations, coalitions, and local government agencies to build the governance, operational, financial, and project management systems that turn strategy into execution. The PMIWDC honor follows the firm’s Impact & Excellence Award from the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce in June 2026. Kelly is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Association of Black Women in Project & Program Management (ABWIPPM), a global network of approximately 40,000 members.
